Rules and Policies

Code of Conduct 

  • All members and guests must check in at the desk.
  • Sharing I.D. cards to allow others into the facility is not allowed.
  • Members and guests 12 years of age and younger must be accompanied by an individual 16 years or older with a valid driver’s license. Members ages 13 or older may use the facility without adult supervision, unless posted otherwise.
  • A medical check-up and approval by your personal physician before participation in any physical activity is recommended. Direct supervision of guests is not provided. Use of the facility is at your own risk.
  • Proper attire is required in all areas of the Activity Center. Offensive clothing is not permitted.
  • This facility is alcohol-free, smoke-free, drug-free and weapons-free.
  • Act in a safe, responsible manner at all times. Vulgar or abusive language, aggressive behavior, (sexual) harassment and physical abuse are not tolerated and may result in immediate expulsion.
  • State Tech is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property. Please secure personal belongings.
  • All guests must abide by all state and local laws, policies, ordinances, and regulations.

Those found in violation of the Code of Conduct may be subject to revocation of their privilege to utilize the fitness center/facility and could potentially face disciplinary action by State Tech.

Day pass purchase Policy

Individuals purchasing day passes, whether for themselves or for others, must present a valid driver’s license at the time of purchase.

If a day pass is purchased for an individual who does not possess a valid driver’s license, the purchaser must remain in the building for the duration of that individual’s visit.

The purchaser of any day pass assumes full responsibility for the conduct and actions of all individuals for whom they purchase passes. Any violation of State Tech Activity Center rules and policies, or any damage to State Tech property, may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to suspension or termination of membership privileges and/or a permanent ban from the Activity Center.

Fitness Center Rules

  1. State Tech Staff observe the right to determine if any practices or behaviors are unsafe or inappropriate for student/members.
  2. Participants must be 13 years of age to use the fitness center. Participants ages 10 to 12 may use the fitness center only if accompanied by a State Tech Personal Trainer. Children 9 years or younger are not allowed on any equipment in the FC.
  3. To ensure a comfortable environment for everyone, please be courteous and respectful of others.
  4. “Functional” and “appropriate” attire, particularly shirts and athletic shoes, should be worn at all times. Jeans and work boots are not allowed. State Tech staff reserves the right to determine what is appropriate athletic attire is.
  5. Tobacco products, food, glass bottles and cans are not allowed in the fitness center. Plastic water bottles are acceptable.
  6. “Control” of the weights must be shown at all times. Do not slam or drop free weights on the floor during your workout.
  7. No outside personal trainers are allowed.
  8. Proper “gym etiquette” should be shown. His includes:
  • 30-minute time limit on all cardiovascular equipment
  • allowing others to mix in with equipment during busy times.
  • Wipe down each piece of equipment before after use (cleaning agents are provided).
  • Re-rack all free weights and dumbbells after you have finished using them.
