Foundation Scholarship Guidelines

It’s easy to apply!

The Foundation for State Technical College of Missouri manages over 40 scholarships sponsored exclusively for students attending State Tech.

To apply for any of the Foundation Scholarships, all students must have applied with State Tech.

  • Once you have applied to the college, you can complete the Scholarship Application by logging in with your account information that was sent to your personal email.
  • If you are a current student, please use your State Tech log in.
  • Once logged in, please select the Student tab and then select myScholarship Application.  If you have trouble accessing the scholarship application, please contact jicsadmin@statetechmo.edu.

Scholarship eligibility is determined by application information. In addition to fulfilling scholarship criteria, consideration is based on availability of funds.

Adam Carwile Memorial Scholarship 

Sponsored by the family of the late Adam Carwile, four $500 academic scholarships are awarded annually to students. 

AGC Student Chapter Scholarship 

The Associated General Contractors (AGC) Student Chapter at State Tech awards an annual scholarship to an individual pursuing a Certificate or Associate of Applied Science Degree at State Technical College of Missouri.  In addition to fulfilling scholarship criteria, consideration is based on availability of funds. 

Ameren Missouri’s Callaway Energy Center Scholarship 

Ameren Callaway Plant will award up to five $1,000 scholarships to second year students pursuing Nuclear Technology. 

Andrew Ell Memorial Scholarship 

The Andrew Ell Memorial Scholarship awards one $500 academic scholarship annually to individuals pursuing Electric Power Generation Technology (EPG).  

Benner/Green Learning for Success Scholarship 

The Benner/Green Learning for Success Scholarship awards one $10,000 scholarship over two years. 

Berry Foundation (BOBCAT & KOMATSU Brands) Scholarship

Sponsored by the Berry Foundation two $2500 academic scholarship is awarded annually to two students pursuing Heavy Equipment Technology at State Tech. These
scholarships will be paid out in two payments of $1250 per semester per student.

Bill H. Tonsing Memorial Scholarship

The Bill H. Tonsing Memorial Scholarship, sponsored by the St. Louis Aviation Maintenance Association, St. Louis, Missouri, awards one $1,500 annual scholarship to individuals pursuing Aviation Maintenance.  

Bill Matthews Memorial Scholarship 

In memory of Bill Matthews, a 1972 Electronics graduate and retired HVAC Instructor, the Bill Matthews Memorial Scholarship awards two $500 scholarship to an individual pursuing Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning Technology. 

Bruce Runge Memorial Scholarship 

In memory of Bruce Runge, a 1997 Machine Tool graduate, the Bruce Runge Memorial Scholarship awards one $500 scholarship to an individual pursuing Precision Machining Technology. 

Carol Schneider Scholarship 

Practical Nursing Technology graduates, in honor of Ms. Carol Schneider sponsors one $500 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time student pursuing a Certificate in Practical Nursing Technology. 

CEDA Bill Mitchell Memorial Scholarship

The Construction Equipment Distributors (CEDA) Association Bill Mitchell Memorial Scholarship awards two $500 scholarships each year to students pursuing Heavy Equipment Technology. 

Central Electric Power Cooperative Scholarship 

Central Electric Power Cooperative, Jefferson City, Missouri, awards a $1,000 annual scholarship to a first-time entering college student. 

Claycomb Nursing Scholarship 

Donald and Linda Claycomb established this endowed scholarship in 2022. Annually one scholarship is available to an individual who has completed State Tech’s Practical Nursing Technology program and is currently admitted to State Tech’s Associate of Applied Science degree Nursing program.

Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) Scholarship 

The Mid-Missouri Construction Specifications Institute awards three $500 annual scholarships to students pursuing Civil Engineering Technology, Design Drafting Technology, or Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Technology.

Daniel Mittenburg Memorial Scholarship 

Sponsored by the State Technical College of Missouri Machine Tool Club, one $500 academic scholarship is awarded annually to a first-year student. 


Dean Crist Memorial Scholarship 

The Dean Crist Memorial Scholarship, sponsored by the Healthcare Technology Management Association of the Midwest (HTMA-MW), awards two $500 scholarships to individuals pursuing  Biomedical Engineering Technology at State Tech.  In addition to fulfilling scholarship criteria, consideration is based on availability of funds.

Dolen Family Scholarship 

The Dolen Family awards one $1,000 scholarship (option to renew for an additional $1,000 for second year) and two $500 scholarships (option to renew each for an additional $500 for second year). 

Constellation Scholarship 

Constellation will award up to five $1,000 scholarships to first year students pursuing Nuclear Technology. 

Fabick CAT Scholarship 

Caterpillar, Fabick CAT, and State Technical College of Missouri award up to ten $1,000 scholarships to students pursuing Heavy Equipment Technology, Medium/Heavy Truck Technology or the Heavy Equipment Technology-CAT Dealer Service Technician Option.

Foley Equipment Scholarship 

Caterpillar, Foley Equipment, and State Technical College of Missouri award up to ten $1,000 scholarships to students pursuing Heavy Equipment Technology, Medium/Heavy Truck Technology or the Heavy Equipment Technology-CAT Dealer Service Technician Option.

Freedom Cycles Scholarship 

Freedom Cycles, headquartered in Grandview, Missouri, offers a $1,750 scholarship each year to a student pursuing Powersports Technology. 

Gene Johnson Memorial Scholarship 

In memory of Gene Johnson, the Gene Johnson Memorial Scholarship awards one $1,000 scholarship. 

Guinevere Braun Gevecker Memorial Scholarship 

The Guinevere Braun Gevecker Memorial Scholarship awards one $1,500 annual scholarship to be paid in three installments ($500 each semester) to an individual pursuing a Certificate in Practical Nursing Technology. 

Herbert Weeks Scholarship 

The Herbert Weeks Endowed Scholarship is awarded each year in the amount of $300. 

Hitachi Energy Scholarship 

Hitachi, awards four $1000 annual scholarships to individuals pursuing Drafting and Design Technology, Electrical Technology, Facility Operations and Management or Welding Technology. 

Holt Family Scholarship 

Sponsored by an anonymous donor, one $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a second year full-time college student pursuing Physical Therapist Assistant. 

Interstates Scholarship 

Interstates Foundation awards one $1,500 scholarship to an individual pursuing  Automation & Robotics Technology or Electrical Technology. 

Jesus & Rosa Garfias Radiologic Technologist

The Jesus & Rosa Garfia Radiologic Technologist Scholarship awards one $500 scholarship to an individual pursuing Medical Radiologic Technology. 

John M. Thomas Memorial Scholarship 

In memory of John M. Thomas, a long time lineman, the John M. Thomas Memorial Scholarship awards one $1,000 scholarship to an individual pursuing Electrical Distribution Systems. 

Jordan Bondurant Memorial Scholarship 

In memory of Jordan Bondurant, State Tech student, the Jordan Bondurant Memorial Scholarship awards one $500 scholarship to an individual pursuing Commercial Turf & Grounds Management. 

KC CAT Dealer Service Technician Scholarship 

The Kansas City CAT Dealer Service Technician Scholarship awards one $2,000 scholarship to an individual pursuing the CAT Dealer Service Technician program. 

LAMBDA NU Scholarship

The State Tech’s lota Epsilon Chapter of Lambda Nu National Honor Society, awards one $500 scholarship to a full time first or second year student who is persuing the Medican Radiologic Technology program.  

Lowell Shelton Memorial Scholarship 

In memory of Lowell Shelton, retired Industrial Electricity Instructor, the Lowell Shelton Memorial Scholarship awards a scholarship to an individual pursuing  Automation and Robotics Technology (formally Industrial Electricity). 

Martin Kirby Memorial Scholarship 

In memory of Martin Kirby, a 1975 Automotive Technology graduate, the Martin Kirby Memorial Scholarship awards one $500 scholarship. 

McConnell and Associates Scholarship 

McConnell and Associates, awards four $500 annual scholarship to individuals pursuing  Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Construction Technology, or Heavy Equipment Operations. 

Missouri Land Improvement Contractors Association (MLICA) Scholarship 

The Missouri Land Improvement Contractors Association (MLICA) awards one $1,000 annual scholarship to be paid in three installments to an individual pursuing  Heavy Equipment Operations (HEO) program. 

Missouri River Auto Parts – NAPA Auto Parts 

Missouri River Auto Parts awards two $500 scholarships annually to individuals pursuing Automotive Collision Technology, Automotive Technology, Aviation Maintenance, Caterpillar Dealer Service Technician Option, Electric Power Generation, Electronics Engineering Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, Medium/Heavy Truck Technology, or Powersports Technology.

Mulvania Scholarship Endowment 

In honor of Rodney and Paula Mulvania. This scholarship awards an annual scholarship. 

National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Scholarship 

The National Association of Women in Construction, Central Missouri Chapter #341, awards two $500 annual scholarship to an individual pursuing Civil Construction, Civil Engineering, Commercial Turf and Grounds, Drafting & Design Engineering, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning, or Heavy Equipment Operations.

NextEra Energy Scholarship 

Nextera Energy will award two $2,500 scholarships to first-year students pursuing Nuclear Technology. 

Nuclear Suppliers Association Scholarship 

Nuclear Suppliers Association awards up to two $500 scholarships to individuals pursuing Nuclear Technology program – Radiation Protection option. 

Robert V. Marble Scholarship 

Sponsored by Gertrude Marshall of Columbia, MO, this endowed scholarship was established in 1992. Annually one scholarship in the amount of $750. 

Schierloh Family Scholarship 

To provide financial assistance to High School Seniors who are graduating and planning to complete a program of study at State Tech. To provide scholarship assistance to students who are pursuing a degree with an overall total accumulation of $10,000. Individual annual amounts will be determined by the selection committee.

Specialty Granules Scholarship 

The Specialty Granules, LLC Scholarship is awarded each year in the amount of $1,000 to an individual pursuing Electrical Technology. 

Steelville Manufacturing 

Steelville Manufacturing in Steelville, MO, offers five $4,000 scholarships (split over two years, $2,000 per year) to a student pursuing Design and Drafting Engineering Technology or Precision Machining Technology.  

Terry Rakes Memorial Scholarship 

Schneider Electric, Columbia, Missouri plant, in memory of Terry Rakes, a 1978 Machine Tool graduate, sponsors one $1,000 scholarship to an individual pursuing Precision Machining Technology.  The scholarship is awarded each year to a deserving student who exemplifies the individual qualities and high degree of craftsmanship exhibited by Mr. Rakes in the tool and die trade. 

Venverloh Powersports Scholarship 

The Venverloh Powersports Scholarship awards one $500 scholarship to an individual pursuing Powersports Technology. 

Widel Inc. Scholarship 

Widel, Inc., Blackwater, MO, awards one $1,000 annual scholarship to be paid in installments to an individual pursuing Civil Construction Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or
Heavy Equipment Operations.
