Campus Crime Prevention and Awareness

The Clery Act requires colleges and universities that receive federal funding to disseminate a public annual security report (ASR) to employees and students every October 1st. This ASR must include statistics of campus crime for the preceding three calendar years plus details about efforts taken to improve campus safety. ASRs must also include policy statements regarding, but not limited to, crime reporting, campus facility security and access, law enforcement authority, incidence of alcohol and drug use, and the prevention of and response to sexual assault, domestic or dating violence, and stalking. The Campus SaVE Act refers to the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) amendments to the Clery Act. The Campus SaVE Act is an update to the Clery Act that expands the scope of this legislation in terms of reporting, response, and prevention education requirements around rape, acquaintance rape, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Questions about this report can be directed to the Campus Security Survey Administrator, located in the Vehicle and Power Center, Room 213 or at (573) 897-5228.
