Do I have to take the ACT / SAT / Accuplacer to be admitted?
State Tech utilizes multiple measures to assess students and advise them into the appropriate classes. The measures listed below are required for automatic placement into college level Reading, Writing and Mathematics courses. Students are required to complete a placement test unless they:
Have completed English Composition and College Algebra (with a C or better) from accredited institution (including dual credit)
Have taken a standardized test (ACT/SAT/Accuplacer) within the past five years, and meet the criterion for college level course placement
To view the criteria for your major click here. Choose your anticipated major then click on “Application Requirements” in the right hand corner.
If your scores fall below these measures, we ask that you complete the Accuplacer Placement Test. This is not a timed test, or a pass/fail test. The score(s) you achieve on the test will allow us to register you for the appropriate college courses. The test will cover Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. To schedule the Accuplacer please click here or call 573-897-5000. Accuplacer details can be found on the Admission Requirements webpage.
