Performance Management

State Tech wants all employees to be successful.  Full-time employees are provided a formal performance review annually and check-in sessions 2 to 3 times yearly from their direct supervisor. Supervisors are to adhere to the procedures for the specific performance review and check-in sessions.

Check-Ins Sessions are:

15-30 minutes
In-person open and interactive conversation with employee and supervisor
Conversation should focus on:

  • Discuss areas of progress, strengths, and accomplishments on personal development plan;
  • Discuss areas of potential improvement, if needed;
  • Discuss employee’s goals, career/skill development, and growth opportunities including professional development and equity request; and
  • Discuss professional development requirement and the status of employee’s progress
  • Discuss employee’s goals for the next

Annual Performance Reviews are:

45 minutes to 1 hour
In-person open and interactive conversation between the employee and supervisor
Conversation should focus on:

  • Discuss overall performance of employee and review of employee job description.
  • Discuss accomplishments and areas of potential improvement on personal development plan (personal goals) and program/department goals;
  • Discuss employee’s career/skill development, and growth opportunities including professional development and equity request; and
  • Discuss professional development requirement from last year and the status of employee’s progress in the coming year.
