The mission of ST2 Rehab is to provide physical therapy services to the uninsured and underinsured population of Mid-Missouri to empower patients to take charge of their health and well-being, while enhancing student learning through hands-on experience and research opportunities. Patients who are seen in ST2 Rehab should meet at least one of the following:
Patient verbalizes they do not have insurance
Patient indicates they do not have insurance on intake form
Patient indicates they do have insurance but no local healthcare provider in their network and they cannot find anyone to provide care
Patient has exhausted existing healthcare benefits or has been denied additional healthcare services
Priority of being seen in ST2 Rehab will always be given to patients who meet at least one of the above criteria
Under some extenuating circumstances, patients who have healthcare coverage may be seen in ST2 Rehab. These circumstances include:
Individuals who cannot access healthcare because of scheduling delays would be eligible for ST2 Rehab in the interim. Communication must occur between ST2 Rehab, billing clinic supervisor and OP Therapy Services Director and all parties must agree.
Open slots in ST2 Rehab with no patients on waiting list to be scheduled. Under this circumstance, ST2 Rehab would work with community therapists to identify potential ST2 Rehab patients.
Only if ST2 Rehab has availability with no top priority patients on wait list would a patient who states they cannot afford their copay be allowed to be seen in ST2 Rehab
