State Technical College of Missouri is committed to improving student learning outcomes and providing opportunities for a successful academic experience for all students. Designed to ensure continuous improvement, State Technical College of Missouri’s student learning outcomes process includes placement exams, nationally standardized certification and licensure exams, project and performance evaluations, capstone courses, and student needs and satisfaction surveys.
State Technical College of Missouri will conduct ongoing evaluation of the student learning outcomes and placement process. Each academic program will work with Academic Affairs administration to identify program‑specific SLOs and align them with the program curriculum. All degree- or certificate-seeking students will be required to participate in knowledge and performance evaluations at appropriate points of development in their programs of study.
General Education Learning Outcomes
General Education Learning Outcomes (GELO) are foundational competencies aligned across written communication, oral communication, mathematical sciences, natural sciences, and social and behavioral sciences.

General Education Learning Outcomes will be assessed using embedded, course‑based direct assessment measures in designated general education courses. Results of these assessments will be summarized according to the College’s reporting cycle and shared with relevant academic leadership for institutional improvement.
