The college encourages all employees to accept their civic responsibilities. As such, the college supports employees in the performance of these duties by providing approved time off to eligible employees who are called to serve as jurors or who are summoned to appear as witnesses in a judicial proceeding as a result of a subpoena or other court order.
Criminal Proceedings
Employees are also allowed approved time off to attend criminal proceedings or participate in activities that prepare for criminal proceedings when the employee or the employee’s immediate family member is the victim of a crime.
Employees should notify their supervisor as soon as practicable of the need for time off under this policy. Hourly employees may use accrued paid time off including vacation or personal time for leave taken under this policy. Salaried employees are paid their full weekly salary unless they are on leave for an entire workweek during which no work is performed. If so, they may use accrued paid time off including vacation and personal for leave taken under this policy.
