Parking on Campus

Employee parking

  • Green-striped spots on the main campus
  • Requires an employee parking permit from HR

Student parking

  • White-striped spots on the main campus
  • Requires a student parking permit -distributed to students at start of semester

Visitor parking

  • Yellow-striped spots on the main campus
  • Requires a visitor parking permit from the Receptionist in the Information Technology Center.

Students living in on-campus housing

  • Must park in student housing lots only and shall not park in any other lots
  • Requires a housing parking permit from Resident Manager

Parking Violation penalties will be issued for:

  • Parking in a manner that takes up two or more spots
  • Parking on sidewalks, grass, landscaped areas, curbs, or blocking driveways
  • Parking recreational vehicles, trailers, boats, ATVs, or any unlicensed or inoperative vehicles in any campus parking lots.
  • Parking any vehicle in such a manner that any part of the vehicle or item protruding from the vehicle takes up walkway space that is used by pedestrian traffic including transportation devices used by disabled individuals. Examples includes backing in or pulling into a parking space such that a bumper, or item protruding from a bumper, takes up space in the accessible walkways.

Minimum parking violation penalty is $25.00. Fines increase with each violation. Maximum fine is $100.00.Double fines may be assessed for failure to heed warnings. Repeat offenders may be subject to the towing of the vehicle at the owner’s expense. No more than one penalty may be issued to the same vehicle in the same parking spot in a four (4) hour period.

Parking violation penalties generally follow the schedule below:

  • 1st Violation – Warning
  • 2nd Violation – $25 fine
  • 3rd Violation – $50 fine
  • 4th Violation – $75 fine
  • 5 or more Violations – $100 fine

Special arrangements for handicapped and temporary parking can be made with the Receptionist in the Information Technology Center.

Vehicle Removal

The College may remove a vehicle:

  • if a reasonable effort has been made to contact the owner
  • if it is determined to be abandoned.
  • If it is a safety hazard or is obstructing traffic.
  • Is parked without authorization in a posted reserved space.

Vehicle removal will be at the expense of the owner or operator of the vehicle.

  • If a vehicle is in the process of being towed, but has not yet been removed from college property, it is still subject to all charges assessed by the tow company.
  • All towing and impound/storage charges are determined by the tow company and must be paid directly to them.
  • Towing fees and impoundment/storage payments are not applied to unpaid parking fines that are due to the college.
  • The college is not liable or responsible for any damage caused to a motor vehicle by an independent contractor.
