Facilities Operations & Management

The Facilities Operations and Management program at State Tech prepares students for careers that keep commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and entire campuses running efficiently, safely, and sustainably. Students gain hands-on experience in construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and building and grounds maintenance, developing the technical and problem-solving skills needed to manage complex facilities.

Modern buildings have become incredibly complex with computers controlling AV systems, irrigation, water quality, lighting, and HVAC systems. Computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) predict maintenance needs, order parts, and help maintenance technicians work on equipment. Graduates who understand these complex connections are a high demand.

Along with technical coursework, students earn CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 10-hour safety certifications, building the leadership and safety awareness employers expect from facilities professionals.

Every student completes an internship, gaining real-world experience that often leads directly to full-time employment. With strong industry partnerships and instruction led by experienced professionals, graduates are equipped to oversee day-to-day operations, perform maintenance, manage maintenance teams, and ensure buildings function at peak performance.

As demand grows across industries, from healthcare and education to hospitality and corporate environments, State Tech graduates are prepared to step into leadership roles managing the spaces where people live, work, and thrive.

At State Tech, you won’t just maintain buildings, you’ll manage the systems that keep them alive.
