Another Record Breaking Number of Students Graduate from State Tech in 2023
Linn MO – State Technical College of Missouri held its commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 13th for the 2023 graduating class.
A record breaking 796 students will graduate from State Tech this year. The ceremony will be held at the State Tech Activity Center, making this celebration the largest in State Tech History.
State Tech alumni Steve Sellenriek delivered the keynote address. Steve Sellenriek graduated from State Technical College of Missouri (formerly known as Linn Tech) in 1997 with a certificate in Heavy Equipment Technology. He went to work at Sellenriek Construction working in all aspects of the Broadband business from laborer, operator, shop technician, splicer, foreman, supervisor, and now President. Sellenriek Construction grew doing broadband construction including other services such as: utility locating, broadband engineering, GIS mapping, civil utility boring, and electrical distribution work. With all the growth, two other companies were founded as UtiliSource and Sellenriek Energy with over 300 combined employees.
Sellenriek serves on several industry boards, he was appointed by the Governor to serve on the State Tech Board of Regents. He currently serves as the vice president of the board. He also enjoys serving on the Jonesburg High Hill Fire Protection District, the Jonesburg Lions Club, Montgomery City Freemasons, and the Mid-Mo Shriners.
Outside of work and other commitments, you will likely find Sellenriek going to car shows with his classics, the Lake of the Ozarks, and spending time with his family especially his nieces and nephews.
