LINN, MO — State Technical College of Missouri is pleased to announce the appointment of Rob Land to its Board of Regents by Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe. Land will replace outgoing Board of Regents member Ed Frederick and is expected to be officially sworn in this week.
Land brings more than four decades of experience in the electric utility industry, along with a longstanding relationship with State Tech dating back nearly 30 years.
History on Rob Land
Land graduated from Dexter High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Southeast Missouri State University. He began his career with Missouri Utilities in Cape Girardeau before joining Citizens Electric Corporation in Ste. Genevieve, where he eventually served as Manager of Member Services and Director of Safety.
In 1994, Land joined the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives in Jefferson City. Throughout his nearly three decades with the organization, he held several leadership positions, including Director of Risk Management and Training and, most recently, Vice President of Risk Management and Training. He retired in December 2022.
Land’s Connection to State Tech
His connection to State Tech began in 1997, when he helped support the development of the college’s Electrical Distribution Systems program. He subsequently served on the program’s Advisory Council and currently serves on the State Tech Foundation Board of Directors.
“I am honored and thank Governor Kehoe for the appointment to the State Technical College of Missouri Board of Regents and look forward to working with the Board and Dr. Strong,” said Land. “I have had the pleasure of working with State Tech since 1997 when the Electrical Distribution Systems Program was in development, being on that program’s Advisory Council and most recently on the Foundation Board. State Tech is growing and I am pleased to have this opportunity.”
State Tech also extends its appreciation to outgoing Regent Ed Frederick for his service and dedication to the college. Frederick served as an instructor, Advisory Council Member and most recently on the Board of Regents.
The State Tech Board of Regents serves as the governing body of the college, providing leadership and oversight for State Tech.
