At State Tech, we encourage every prospective student to apply—even if you don’t meet the automatic admission requirements below. Every application receives individual consideration.

This program has limited capacity, so applying early gives you the best opportunity for admission.

How Admission Works

This program has a competitive selection process. Application deadline is December 5^th.

State Tech has three admission pathways:

Automatic Admission – Students meeting the GPA and test score requirements below are automatically admitted.
Program Review – Applicants who do not meet the automatic admission criteria are reviewed individually to determine their potential for success.
Deferred Decision – If additional preparation is recommended, our Admissions team will work with you to identify the best pathway.

Automatic Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (GED/HiSET) Minimum GPA: 2.75 If a prospective student holds an international high school diploma, they must provide an approved Foreign Evaluation Services report confirming U.S. high school equivalency.

Test Scores
Submit all ACT and/or Accuplacer Next Gen test scores. Test scores are used for program admittance and course placement. Test scores may be waived with approved transfer credit.

• To schedule your TEAS exam click here. •This test must be completed within five years of the application date and may be taken up to three times per admissions cycle.


Program-Specific Requirements
•Observation Documentation •A total of 4 hours of observation must be completed with a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN). The observation will not be accepted if completed at the applicant’s current place of employment. Both forms, Applicant Initial Set-Up of Observation Form and Applicant Observation Form, need to be completed and submitted to the Office of Admissions. •Attend an information session •For a list of information session dates and to register, click here. •Drug screening, background check, and vaccinations are required for clinical education.
