Advisory Council

FAQ

WHAT IS STATE TECH ADVISORY COUNCIL?

A group of individuals representing a cross-section of business and industry who are dedicated to keeping technical education abreast of business and industry’s requirements.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE?

The basic purpose of the Advisory Council is to provide advice and assistance to help keep State Technical College of Missouri’s academic programs current with business and industry requirements.

IS IT IMPORTANT?

VERY! If the college is to remain responsive to industry’s needs, then it must be informed of what those needs are. The Advisory Council is the means by which industry’s needs are made known to the staff and faculty of the college. Because this is so important, Missouri statutes require that each local educational agency that receives federal or state funds shall have an Advisory Council.
