State Technical College of Missouri allows individuals to bring animals on college property, but not within college-owned buildings, as long as:
A service animal assisting an individual with a disability is permitted on campus grounds and within college buildings, including college housing. This practice follows Titles II and III of the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act (ADAAA).
An emotional support animal is permitted on campus grounds and to accompany an individual into his or her college assigned residence in accordance with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. However, a support animal is not allowed to accompany the individual into his or her residential dining center or into any other college building.
Accommodation must be requested by contacting Counseling Services. Written approval by the Dean of Students must be received prior to bringing a service animal on campus.
Should the service/support animal become aggressive or a distraction to learning, State Tech has the discretion to ask that the animal be removed from campus.
