State Tech works closely with students to ensure academic success. The Academic Resource Center (ARC) is located on the second level of the Information Technology Center above the Library.
Staff members and peer tutors offer both individual and group tutoring for these general education classes:
The ARC houses individual and group study areas and computers that are equipped with the latest Microsoft software. Accommodations for students with Individualized Education Plans are supported by ARC staff members. The ARC offers Study Skills Seminars on note-taking, test-taking, time management, calculator tips, and others upon request.
The Academic Resource Center (ARC) offers both staff and student tutors to support all math and science courses. No appointment is required; simply sign in at the front desk and a tutor will be available to assist you. While one-on-one sessions cannot be guaranteed, all tutoring is conducted using a structured group-study approach, which encourages collaboration, critical thinking, and active learning.
We also provide useful tools for your math and science work, including calculators, rulers, protractors, graph paper, notecards, and even candy because yes, candy can be a study tool!
Drop-Off Editing versus ARC Tutoring: What’s the Difference?
Drop-Off Paper/Resume Editing
*If a paper or resume has multiple issues, the tutor may stop the proofreading process and email the student to request an in-person tutoring session.
Tip: Students should run their document through the spelling and grammar check in their word processor before submitting.
ARC Tutoring Session
