An instructor or student may initiate discussion regarding whether an “I” (incomplete) grade is appropriate in a given situation. An “I” (incomplete) grade can be recorded for a student who has completed at least 60 percent of required class work with a passing grade, but because of reasons acceptable to the instructor, has failed to complete all of the class work. If work is not completed within one year, the “I” grade will be converted to “F.”
