Jakes Sims Presented the John M. Thomas Memorial Scholarship

Jakes Sims, second from right, was presented the John M. Thomas Memorial Scholarship from Janet Shackelford, Tom Thomas, Judy Jansen, and Don Thomas at the at the Mexico High School Awards Assembly on May 10th. Jake Sims is the 2019 recipient of the John M. Thomas Memorial Scholarship. Jake will be a student in the Electrical Distribution Systems program at State Tech this fall. The siblings of John M. Thomas started the scholarship in memory of their brother who was a lineman almost his entire life until he passed away in January 2015. John loved his job and was always happy to take a new journeyman under his watch to teach them how to do their job effectively and safely.
