Relocation and Interview Expense Reimbursement

Purpose
Reimbursing eligible relocation and interview expenses of candidates and new employees traveling or relocating to accept full-time employment at State Technical College of Missouri.

Eligibility

  • Interview Expense Reimbursement Candidates for full-time positions who travel more than 150 miles to attend an in-person interview at State Technical College of Missouri may be reimbursed for travel expenses. If approved by HR, reimbursement may include:
    • Documented mileage at current IRS rate
    • Airfare, lodging, and meals
  • Relocation Reimbursement Candidates who accept full-time positions and relocate from a permanent residence more than 150 miles may be reimbursed for relocation expenses. If approved by HR, reimbursement may include:
    • Expenses to move personal belongings (Max $3,500)
    • Expenses to travel to new location including documented mileage at current IRS rate (Max $1,000)
    • Short-term lodging (Max $1,500)
    • Expenses related to house hunting trip ($500)

Important Information

  • All reimbursement will comply with applicable IRS regulations
    • Relocation reimbursements may be subject to repayment if the employee voluntarily resigns or is terminated for cause within 12 months of the start date of employment.

All reimbursements must be supported by receipts, are contingent on budget availability, and may be limited or denied at HR’s discretion.
