State Tech Shines at 2025 College Lineman’s Rodeo in Michigan

Linn, MO – Students from State Technical College of Missouri’s Electrical Distribution Systems program had a strong showing at the 2025 College Lineman’s Rodeo held in Alpena, Michigan. Competing against students from three other colleges and a total of 54 individual competitors, State Tech students stood out with impressive performances.

Garrett Mason earned 3rd place in the individual Obstacle Climb event, while State Tech Team 1 took 1st place in the Team Obstacle Climb and finished 2nd Overall.

“I am extremely pleased with the hard work and dedication I saw from our students as they prepared for the rodeo,” said Asher Gardner, Electrical Distribution Systems Instructor at State Tech. “That dedication paid off in a big way, and I couldn’t be more pleased with how they pushed each other along toward a common goal.”

State Tech is proud of these students for representing Missouri’s premier technical college on a national stage and continuing to demonstrate why we are The Employers’ Choice.
