State Technical College of Missouri offers hands-on education. This allows students the opportunity to gain real-world experience to help them become The Employers’ Choice. Many 4-year universities are more classroom and lecture based. At State Tech, students learn their material in the classroom and then put that knowledge to work in the lab to gain the real-world experience. This hands-on training helps students understand their program and material by learning it in the classroom, but also by implementing what they learned in the classroom. This allows the students to better understand their material. The 2-year education allows for less student debt because it is less money to pay for 2 years of education vs. 4 years, but still getting an excellent education and college degree at State Tech. State Technical College of Missouri has a 99% job placement rate. State Tech partners with hundreds of companies and businesses to give its students the opportunity to be placed with an employer that best suites each graduate once they have earned their degree. Each year State Tech hosts their annual Career Expo that allows students and alumni to visit with over 400 potential employers. This gives the students the opportunity to be successful once they have graduated from State Tech and it prepares them for profitable employment and a life of learning. Because our students have a valuable college degree, they advance throughout their career similar to someone with a four-year degree. According to the US Government’s College Scorecard, State Tech graduates in-fact make more money than graduates from Missouri’s Regional four-year universities. The belief that a four-year degree pays more than a two-year technical degree is no longer the case. With only two technicians going into the workforce for every five that come out salaries for technical degrees will grow faster than four-year degrees. |
