Our temporary housing options are thoughtfully selected to ensure proximity to work locations, essential amenities, and a smooth living experience. From fully furnished spaces to extended-stay accommodations, we offer flexible solutions that support you and your work-life balance.

Please review the following information when requesting temporary housing. This ensures a smooth reservation process and helps match you with the appropriate housing option based on your needs and assignment.

  1. Property Options & Descriptions

Morton Farm Cabin

  • Type: 2-bedroom, 2-bath cabin
  • Furnishings:
    • Living Room: Couch, TV with stand, small desk & chair
    • Dining Room: Table with chairs
    • Bedrooms (2): Bed, dresser, and nightstand in each
    • Kitchen: Refrigerator, microwave, stove/oven, dishwasher
    • Washer and Dryer: Located in the basement (shared space)
  • Special Notes:
    • Basement is currently used for storage due to campus construction
    • Basement is a shared space with separate access door
    • Garage-side of the basement (with washer/dryer) is mostly empty

Herndon Hills House/Farm

  • Type: 3-bedroom house
  • Appliances: Basic kitchen appliances included
  • Special Notes:
    • This is an Agriculture Operations lab space
    • AGR faculty and students frequently visit for academic purposes
    • Property is actively used during the academic year

Maasen House/Farm

  • Type: 3-bedroom house (currently under renovation)
  • Appliances: Basic kitchen appliances will be available upon completion
  • Special Notes:
    • This is an Agriculture Operations lab space
    • AGR faculty and students frequently visit
    • Property also serves as the Shooting Range for the College’s Shooting Sports Club
    • Periodic activity may occur related to club use

Usage Guidelines

To ensure a positive experience for all employees and maintain the integrity of the housing properties, the following policies apply to all occupants of temporary employee housing. By accepting a housing assignment, employees agree to comply with these guidelines.

  1. Eligibility
  • Housing is available only to internal employees with a temporary work-related need (e.g., relocation, assignment, training).
  • Requests must be approved by the employee’s supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Housing assignments are based on availability, business needs, and the nature of the employee’s assignment.
  1. General Conduct
  • Employees are expected to maintain professional and respectful conduct during their stay.
  • Housing should be used only for its intended purpose, temporary residence while on company business.
  • Any disruptive behavior, misuse of property, or violation of these policies may result in termination of housing privileges.
  1. Property Access & Use
  • Occupants may not sublease or allow others to live in the unit without prior approval.
  • Only approved occupants (employee and listed dependents or guests) may reside in the housing unit.
  • Shared or dual-use spaces (e.g., Morton Cabin basement) must be respected and kept accessible.
  1. Maintenance & Repairs
  • Employees must report maintenance issues promptly to Facilities/Auxiliary Contact.
  • Do not attempt to make unauthorized repairs or alterations to the property.
  • Reasonable wear and tear is expected; however, damage beyond that may result in charges to the department or employee.
  1. Cleaning & Upkeep
  • The unit must be kept in a clean and sanitary condition.
  • Before move-out, employees are expected to clean the space and return it to its original condition.
  1. Utilities & Furnishings
  • Basic utilities (electricity, water, internet, etc.) are included unless otherwise specified.
  • Furnishings provided must remain in the unit and be maintained in good condition.
  • Employees are responsible for any missing or damaged items.
  1. Agricultural Lab Properties (Herndon Hills & Maasen Farms)
  • These properties are designated Agriculture Operations lab spaces.
  • AGR faculty and students may have regular access to the grounds and facilities.
  • Privacy is respected, but occasional academic or club activity is expected.
  • The Maasen Farm is also used as a shooting range by the College’s Shooting Sports Club. Scheduled activity will follow safety protocols and will be communicated in advance when possible.
  1. Safety & Security
  • Keep doors and windows locked when not in use.
  • Report any suspicious activity or security concerns to Auxiliary contact.
  1. Duration & Extension of Stay
  • Housing is granted for a specific period based on your assignment.
  • Requests for extension must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the original check-out date.
  • Extensions are not guaranteed and depend on availability and business need.
  1. Check-Out Procedures
  • Employee must vacate the premises by the agreed check-out date.
  • A final walk-through will be conducted.
  • All keys and access devices must be returned.
  1. Liability
  • The organization is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
  • Employees are encouraged to carry renters’ insurance for personal belongings.
  1. Policy Violations
  • Any violations of housing policies may result in:
    • Termination of housing privileges
    • Reimbursement for damages or cleaning
    • Disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment

How to Rent

All reservations must be submitted through the official college reservation system by emailing Rentals@statetechmo.edu and approved prior to use.
