State Technical College of Missouri students that are planning to enroll in the 2021-2022 academic year are set to receive up to an extra $1000 towards their education.
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act includes a Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) that provides more than $14 billion in emergency funding to higher education. More than $6 billion of those funds will go directly to students at colleges nationwide.
State Tech’s portion of the funding will be awarded to both full and part-time students who have completed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2021-2022 academic year. If you have not completed a FAFSA, there is still time! Go to www.fafsa.gov and complete the form. When asked for State Tech’s federal school code, simply enter 004711. Your FAFSA will come to our office and we will begin to process to see what other aid you may qualify to receive.
This is free money for our students. It is a great opportunity to provide additional financial support to all of our students who have completed a FAFSA. We will determine eligible students early in the Fall semester and the payments will be made by check to the address we have on file for each student.
If you are not sure if you have completed a FAFSA for 2021-2022, please contact the Financial Aid Office at (573) 897-5000 and select option 2 from the menu.
