COST OF ATTENDANCE

The Cost of Attendance (COA) is an estimated yearly cost for a student to attend State Tech. The COA budget categories are split into “Direct” and “Indirect” costs on the financial aid offer. Direct costs are expenses you can expect to pay directly to the school such as tuition and fees while Indirect costs may or may not be charges you will see reflected on the student account.

COA is based on several factors listed below:

  • Tuition and Fees – can be found online here: Tuition and fees
  • Living Expenses (housing and meals) – can be found online here:  Housing and Meal Plans
  • Books, Course materials, Supplies, and Equipment – can be found online here: Bookstore and Tools
  • Transportation
  • Personal and Miscellaneous expenses
  • Federal educational loan fees

You can view your estimated COA on your financial aid offer once it has been created for the academic year.

The COA serves two purposes:

  • To provide students with an estimated cost to attend State Tech.
  • To set a limit on the amount of financial aid students can receive during the academic year (which federal regulations require us to do).

Your total amount of aid—including scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study—cannot exceed your total cost of attendance.

*Please remember, the estimated COA is not the amount that you owe the college.*

This means your actual expenses will be different from what’s listed on your financial aid offer. Actual charges are available for enrolled students within the MyTech student portal approximately 30 days prior to the start of each semester. Students will receive email notifications to their State Tech student email account as charges become available.
