Welding Technology

The Welding Technology program at State Tech prepares students for rewarding careers in one of the most essential and enduring trades in the world. Students gain hands-on experience across a variety of welding processes while training for AWS SENSE Entry and Advanced Welder certifications, credentials recognized by employers nationwide.

Beyond welding, the curriculum builds a strong foundation in safety, blueprint reading, hoisting and rigging, mathematics, automation, inspection, and testing, ensuring graduates are fully prepared for today’s high-tech industrial environments.

Unlike short-term training programs, State Tech’s Associate of Applied Science degree provides a comprehensive education that blends technical mastery with communication and problem-solving skills, setting graduates apart in a competitive job market.

With courses in CNC plasma cutting and robotic welding, students train on the latest tools and technologies shaping the future of the industry. Graduates are ready for careers in manufacturing, fabrication, construction, and maintenance, fields that will always rely on the skill and precision of expert welders.

In just two years, you’ll be prepared to test for certification as American Welding Society (AWS) SENSE Level I Entry Welders and/or AWS SENSE Level II Advanced Welders. This program will make you much more marketable to future employers than just a traditional welding school

At State Tech, you don’t just join metal, you fuse skill with strength.

Articulation credit for prior welding classes will depend on documentation provided by your high school or area career center.
