State Tech is known for amazing career outcomes for our graduates, so when we begin to offer a new program, we know these students will be sought after when they graduate. That is why we are excited to announce our new Energy Technology program. This new program will start accepting students for the fall class of 2022.
Our Energy Technology program will prepare students for a career as a plant operator or technician for a variety of power generation energy sources. The curriculum includes instruction in electrical theory and safety, mechanical and fluid power transmission, and power generation equipment and systems. This program will equip student with the knowledge needed to have career opportunities in fields like coal and gas fired plants, biodiesel plants, solar and wind power generating facilities and other renewable energy fields.
State Tech is also pleased to announce the hiring of Jason Crum as the program’s first instructor and Department Chair. Jason earned his Mechanical Engineering BS from Missouri Science and Technology 2001 and his Masters in Business Administration from Missouri Science and Technology 2013. Before accepting the position at State Tech, Mr. Crum worked in the energy field for more than 20 years. When asked why State Tech, Crum said…
“The Energy Market is progressing through unprecedented changes from rising energy demands to technology changes and employee retirements. State Techs reputation in the market place with employers is a great fit for the agile Energy Market as it evolves. Having the opportunity to help young adults to prepare and define the future of our Energy Market is exciting. I look forward to watching the State Tech Energy Technology student’s careers grow and evolve as they define their career paths.”
