State Tech to host Missouri SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference. Governor Parson to attend Opening Ceremony

Linn MO – For the 20th consecutive year, State Technical College of Missouri (State Tech) will host the annual Missouri SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference from Thursday March 30th until Saturday April 1st. Missouri Governor Mike Parson plans to deliver some opening remarks.

In collaboration with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, State Tech welcomes numerous Missouri high schools and community colleges. Thousands of students and teachers participate in more than 120 leadership, skills and written contests preparing students for the National Leadership and Skills Conference contests each year.

Students arrive on campus Thursday, March 30th for registration. The conference begins at 11am with an opening ceremony in the State Tech Activity Center. Missouri Governor Mike Parson plans to deliver some opening remarks.

After the Opening Ceremony, students will compete Thursday afternoon and all day Friday at the State Tech campus and various locations throughout mid-Missouri. Contest results are announced during the awards ceremony on Saturday, April 1st at 9am, in the State Tech Activity Center.

Winners from the 2023 Missouri SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference will represent Missouri at the annual National Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta, Georgia later this year.

SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical, and skilled service occupations, including health occupations.
